Ontario’s 150th anniversary is an opportunity to come together and celebrate the incredible province we live in. It is my belief that the best way to commemorate our 150th anniversary is to honour the individuals that make our province and our region so great. Througout my career as a public servant, I have been continually impressed and awed by the people that I serve. I know that it is the individuals that make up our community that matter most. That is why MP Phil McColeman and I will bestow a special and unique award this summer on 150 deserving individuals in Brant. This will be our way of celebrating the joint 150th birthdays of Ontario and Canada.
Together, we will recognize 150 individuals that exemplify the values of Canada and Ontario, such as active civic participation, volunteerism and public service. Individuals will be recognized for outstanding contributions in categories such as caregiving, community building, entrepreneurship, education, emergency services, sports and recreation, service clubs and agriculture.
Please nominate someone you know today! Nominations are open to residents of Brantford, Brant, Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation. Individuals will be awarded the gift of a special coin that features MP McColeman on one side and MPP Levac on the other side.
Nomination forms are avaialable at my constituency office at 96 Nelson Street in Brantford or at MP Phil McColeman's office as well. You can also dowload them here.
